Little Legacy Sessions

CHRISTCHURCH BABY MILESTONE PHOTOGRAPHER + CHRISTCHURCH FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER

Fleeting moments. Beautifully captured. Cherished forever.

Little Legacy Sessions are a 45-minute portrait experience that's ideal for older babies, toddlers, young children and teens. They are perfect for marking milestones, celebrating birthdays, or simply updating your family collection with a handful of exquisite portraits. Little Legacy makes it effortless.

You asked — and we listened. Our Little Legacy Sessions were created in direct response to the many parents who told us they wanted a shorter, more focused session to capture just a few beautiful images of their children as they grow. You'll receive the same thoughtful, bespoke service you get with our signature collections, and will still experience the blend of warmth and expertise we are known for, but in an express, child-friendly format.

A smaller session. A timeless result. A legacy your family will treasure.

What do you get?

We like to keep it simple. Here's what you need to know.

01.

You'll receive four images, beautifully finished in our signature fine-art style.

02.

We have lots of options for babies, boys (up to age eight), and girls of all ages.

Little Legacy Sessions

Ideal for Older Babies, Toddlers, Young Children and Teens

Curated studio wardrobe and photogenic props

The session begins with choosing one or two outfits for your child, and we’ll collaborate on the overall look and feel of your portraits. Our littlest clients absolutely light up when they see our gown collection — and we love seeing their confidence and joy come alive in front of the camera. We have clothing options for boys to age 8 and for girls of all ages. You can also bring your child photo-ready if you think they would be unsettled by changing outfits or would prefer to bring a favourite from home. We want the session to be fun, and the fastest way to help young children relax is to play. We have a range of photogenic wooden toys and games, as well as cute cuddly bears and bunnies that they will love.

Choose your favourite backdrop from our rotating selection

Each month, we rotate our backdrop colours — including seasonal favourites like our gorgeous Spring and Autumn florals — so you can select the aesthetic that suits your vision. Just make sure to book on the correct date to align with your preferred backdrop.

Every Image, Beautifully Finished in Our Signature Style

Every image is professionally retouched in our signature fine-art style, just like our larger collections. You'll select your final images from an online proofing gallery, with the option to purchase additional images for $150 each. The collection is delivered digitally, but you'll still have access to our bespoke printing and framing service if you’d like to turn your portraits into lasting heirlooms.

When should you book a full-length session, rather than a Little Legacy?

Little Legacy Sessions are designed to be short and sweet, perfectly matched to a young child’s attention span. This won't suit every child. If you think your child will need more time to settle in before being photographed, we recommend choosing one of our full-length Baby and Toddler Sessions (link below). In these sessions, we've allowed time for your child to get used to the studio, with extra time set aside to ensure everyone is relaxed and can take the time needed to play away from the camera, have snacks and cuddles. For some children this is an essential part of the process and allows us to get beautiful natural photos, even with a child who is reserved and a little nervous around new people.  Little Legacy Sessions are exclusively for children. If you’d like to be included in the photos, we invite you to book one of our full-length Child + Family Sessions (link below). Family portraits are important because we need to 'exist' in photos alongside our kids. We recommend aiming for a full family session every couple of years.

Little Legacy Sessions cost $650, and you can add extra images for $150 each when selecting your collection.

Kirsten's studio is lovely and inviting, with so many gorgeous outfits and props to choose from. Kirsten is extremely good at capturing shots with a very energetic crawler who didn't want to stay in one spot! Our photos were stunning, and we can't wait to get some framed to hang up. Highly recommend

Would highly recommend Kirsten Naomi Photography. My little girl's photoshoot took place in a very relaxed environment, and Kirsten managed to capture some amazing photos despite my very active little girl, who doesn't stay still for very long! She had a wide range of cute outfits and props to use. We were amazed by the quality of the photos, which we will treasure for a lifetime.

  • When is the best time for my newborn session?
We aim to hold the session while your baby is very new and still used to being tucked up inside — usually between days 5 and 14 after birth. Because we can’t predict when your baby will choose to make an entrance, we make a provisional booking on your due date and update this to a confirmed appointment time after they have arrived. We know it can feel daunting to leave the house with a brand new baby, so we have made our studio easy to access, with parking at the door, and very comfortable with everything you might need.
